On the city wall of Xanten stands the Kriemhild mill. It is one of the few mills in Germany that is still in operation every day. When the wind blows strong enough, the sails are set and the wooden gears are put into gear. Then the grain from the funnel runs into the millstones, and one level down, freshly ground whole wheat flour slips into the flour bin.
