Located at 2,309 meters above sea level, this superb site is one of the many lakes in the Marcadau valley. Its colors amaze walkers who stop in the mineral universe that surrounds it.

This very beautiful mountain lake is on the way from Refuge d'Ilheou to Refuge Wallon. Been there twice, in 1983 and 1989. You can see what 38 years of image quality means on my old, poorly digitized slide image. The 2 large stone blocks in front of the lake are still there. 😄
