Two-story half-timbered building at the square-like meeting point of Wirtsgasse and Main Street; A city coat of arms on the portal on the eastern gable side is dated 1744, but this is part of the reused former version of the market fountain. Older municipal accounts are said to show a construction period around 1610. The current appearance of the old town hall is largely influenced by a redesign in 1882. At this point, the slim roof turret with a pointed helmet and cross gables replaced a smaller predecessor, the dormers on the southern side of the eaves received pointed helmets, and the aforementioned portal on the east side with flanking entrances for fire engines was set up. Finally, the roof received a rafter on the same side, a motif that can also be found on the cross gables of the roof turret. (denkxweb.denkmalpflege-hessen.de/6388/)

Not only the old town hall but also the houses on the way to Assenheim Castle are worth seeing.
