When the pillar bridge, built in 1691 and later frequently changed, had to give way to a concrete bridge in 1980, a true-to-original copy of the figure of Saint Nepomuk, which was destroyed by detonation in World War II, was erected.

The original from 1735 is in the Falkenhof Museum. Johannes Nepomuk, canonized in 1729, was a priest in Prague and confessor of the wife of King Wenceslaus, who asked him to break the secret of confession. When the saint opposed the king, Wenceslaus had him murdered in 1393 by falling from the Vltava bridge.
