Stellmoorer Tunneltal Nature Reserve

over hill and dale a rather arduous stretch of road, but nature rewards one

The roadblock is not that easy to cross by bike.

This is the gateway to the beautiful Stellmoor Tunnel Valley Nature Reserve. A not entirely easy, but very beautiful route – more of a hiking or mountain bike trail. I really enjoy riding trails like this.Near the border with Schleswig-Holstein, on Hamburg's northeastern outskirts, you can admire this impressive and diverse hilly landscape. On a tour, you'll particularly enjoy the expansive open landscape, which gives the area a steppe-like character and is surrounded by ancient trees, as well as the streams of the Stellmoor spring river and the Wandse River with their lowlands.The Stellmoor Tunnel Valley is also archaeologically significant, as numerous finds from the late Ice Age reindeer hunting culture have been discovered here. It's a fascinating place that uniquely combines nature, geology, and history.
