The cathedral's interior is largely covered in scaffolding. The renovation is scheduled to be completed by 2026.
The altar and the front part of the nave are open to the public.
Perhaps also interesting is that there is "still" no admission charge to visit the cathedral.

The organ in the Passau Cathedral is particularly worth mentioning. The organ has a total of 233 registers, 17,974 pipes and four chimes. Measured by the number of rows of pipes (333), the five organs together form the largest organ system in Europe and the fifth largest organ in the world.
