The world's tallest crystal glass pyramid consists of 93,665 Tritan® crystal glasses.

The four-sided, 11.5-ton pyramid was created by 25 employees and apprentices from Zwiesel Krisallglas AG. Glasses on 65 levels and a total height of 8.06 m are also records.

The world's tallest crystal glass pyramid (height: 8.06 m) was ceremoniously inaugurated in Zwiesel on May 25, 2007. A team from Zwiesel Krisallglas AG spent two weeks stacking glasses for the record-breaking project.
Exactly 93,665 white wine glasses from the "Neckar" series were placed one by one, with millimeter precision, completely without glue or any other aids.
The employees worked from scaffolding, some of them secured like mountain climbers.
Due to a lack of technical control options, the construction was done almost entirely by eye. Only once did the pyramid threaten to lose its shape, so around 2,500 glasses had to be removed and stacked again.
Then the last wine glass was placed at the top, after which a crane lifted the specially made protective glazing into place.
The almost 5-ton glass panels are supported by a delicate steel structure, a technical challenge, according to architect Uwe Fickenscher.
But the pyramid requires more than just structural engineering expertise from the designer. To prevent the stacked glasses from becoming dirty or fogged up, a permanent dehumidification and dust extraction system were installed.
A glass world record has been created, creating a new landmark for Zwiesel Kristallglas AG and also for the glass-making town of Zwiesel.
