The Shepherd's Wall (Pastýřská stěna) via ferrata is located in the heart of Děčín, opposite Děčín Castle on the other side of the Elbe.

It went into operation in April 2014. Since then, a total of 16 different routes with different levels of difficulty have been created. It is freely accessible and free of charge, you only pay to rent the necessary equipment (ferrat set). For safety reasons, climbing is prohibited when it is raining or when the wall is wet. It is suitable for physically fit people with no mountain experience and children with sporting abilities can also cope with it. You can book an experienced guide who will explain everything you need.

You can rent climbing equipment from the ACTIVE POINT DĚČÍN bike rental shop. You can park in the parking lot at the nearby roundabout, in the parking lot under the Tyrš Bridge or on the other side of the Elbe near the library. All routes start on Labská nábřeží at the original lift to Pastýřská stěna.

This via ferrata Děčín in Bohemian Switzerland is really suitable for everyone. Here the beginner learns the basics of getting around on a secured path in a very interesting environment. On the Hirtenwall there are 16 routes to choose from with lengths of 150-170 m on a rock and the breathtaking view of the castle opposite and the deep Elbe gorge will delight everyone. Our certified guide will accompany you safely “to heaven”. It will only take you 1.5-2.5 hours to visit this attraction.

The Děčín via ferrata is also suitable for children. In our experience, we recommend a height of at least 130 cm. The weight limit results from the technical parameters of via ferrata sets, which are determined from 40 kg. For lighter people, there is a risk that the braking system will not work in the event of a fall and therefore securing with a rope is necessary. Our experienced guides take care of securing children and people under 40 kg.
