Hiking
The ossuary of Naters was built by master builder Ulrich Ruffiner in 1513/1514 and is located next to the parish church of St. Mauritius. It served to store bones that were removed from older graves during new burials. Particularly impressive is the wall with around 1,857 visible skulls. The inscription reminds us of the transience of life: "What you are, we were. What we are, you will be." A place steeped in history that makes you think.
