Rosswald (1,819 meters) is a (largely) car-free holiday resort high above Brig with a view of the Lower Valais. A small ski area, many holiday homes, some gastronomy - a good base for long-distance hikes.

If you like peace and quiet, Rosswald is the place for you.

In summer, Rosswald can be reached via a narrow mountain road.

For "flatlanders" like us, however, I recommend the gondola.

The descent from the slope restaurant down to the village is horribly steep and not nice to go (grass paving stones, partly on a slope). The signposts showed it so, unfortunately I did not have a more precise map. I strongly recommend to look for another route there.
