Donated in 1108 in Osterwieck by Bishop Reinhard, rich land donations caused by the noble ladies Thietburg and her daughter Mathilde 1111 the transfer to Hamersleben. Administrative and legal powers were granted to the monastery in 1178 by the transfer of Archidiakonatsrecht. Until the end of the 13th century Hamersleben existed as a double monastery.
After a temporary decline, it was reformed in 1452 from Riechenberg and joined the Windesheim Congregation. From 1452 to 1722 Priore, later then prelates, who often came from Hildesheim or Paderborn, led the Convention. In 1525 the Chorherrenstift was first plundered by peasants and in 1548 by the Protestant Magdeburgers. Since it also held in the Reformation to the Catholic Confession, the monastery was 1633-1649 Swedish war booty.

This is an absolute highlight - and almost completely undetected! Please note: the entrance is along the street - there is a small wooden door. Anyone looking for an entrance in the parking lot or between the two churches will be out of luck - unless a prediction is taking place.
