With a certificate of the Prussian king, who approved on 16 April 1842 a pit field at Weissewarte to reduce the turf iron ore in the Tangern lowlands, started in Tangerhütte everything. The first blast furnace was built where the industrial road is today. By and by grew around the first foundry larger halls and other buildings.
