It was built in 1898 according to plans by Wilhelm Cordes. The original roof tower was removed in 1996

Chapel 4 could only be opened in 1898 after three years of planning. Cordes had to revise his first draft again according to the specifications of the Senate and the citizens "in order to avoid a mixture of different architectural styles as much as possible". It was the first chapel to receive a singers' stage and organ gallery and, including inventory and accessories, cost 66,700 marks. The small organ with only one manual and pedal from the Ernst Röver company in Haus Neindorf near Quedlinburg cost 2,500 marks. It was replaced by a harmonium in the 1970s.
At the same time, significant interventions were made in the architecture of the interior, including painting over the star-painted vaults and portraits of well-known composers. The tower also fell victim to these careless renovations in 1996. The chapel has 64 seats.fof-ohlsdorf.de/thema/2007/98s05_kapelle-friedhof-ohlsdorf
