Little Venice is the former fishermen's settlement in Bamberg on the left arm of the Regnitz river. The half-timbered houses, built closely together from the 17th to 19th centuries, stand directly on the water, with small gardens, balconies, and boat docks in front – a relic from the time when fishermen moored their boats here. The most beautiful view of the row of houses is from the opposite bank on the Leinritt, the old towpath, or from the Untere Brücke (Lower Bridge).
