The power plant operated today by the Enervie subsidiary Mark-E was completed in 1969 and has an output of 140 megawatts. The lower basin forms in the valley of Glingebachs the Glingebachtalsperre, which holds about 1.3 million m³ of water. The artificially created upper basin also has a useful volume of more than one million cubic meters and is over 270 m higher on the Dahlberg (altitude: 570 m above sea level). At maximum level, each of the two basins has a water surface of about 100,000 m². Through the approximately 900-meter-long pressure tunnel, the water is pumped up to the upper reservoir and lowered again over two Francis turbines. Most of the power plants are underground.
