Large garden with exceptionally large trees.

Created in 1856 by Charles Van Geert as a collection of rare plants and trees. 40 years later taken over by Antoine Kort, who added a variety of witch hazel plants. Closure in the 1930s during the Depression. George and Robert de Belder bought the site in 1952 and founded the International Dendrology Society (IDS) to save endangered forest plants. Robert de Belder and his wife Jelena de Belder-Kovačič set up an internationally known arboretum. In 1986 the province of Antwerp took over the arboretum and it is now open to the public.

Guided hikes are possible, they take about 2 hours. Small shop with books, natural products and gifts. Cafeteria. Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
