Stappersven is part of the cross-border nature reserve Grenspark de Zoom – Kalmthoutse Heide. This cross-border area is an important link in the network of internationally valuable nature reserves. It is very unique that heathland, fens, drifting dunes and forests occur contiguously and over such a large area. Many rare and vulnerable species find their home there. Stappersven offers beautiful views. It consists of open and semi-open landscapes, with moorland moors embraced by an extensive forest area. Drift dunes, dry and moist heaths, peat bogs and structure-rich oak-birch forests are very valuable landscapes of the area. In addition, you will find forests of Scots pine and grassy brushwood.
