The German House is one of the oldest houses in the monastery town of Rehna.
Even if the house today only gives an idea of its original size, if you look closely you can still see its origins. The distance between the containers is 1.8 to 2 meters and suggests a roof covering made of straw. The ground floor, which is approximately four meters high, accommodates the large hallway at the rear.
The house is a hostel for the Martensman. This custom is first mentioned in 1520. Every year on St. Martin's Day a ton (barrel) of wine is sent to the Mecklenburg princes so that they can get along.
Today the German House is used as the city's clubhouse and houses the Rehna city library.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rehna
