A beautiful place with huge round boulders and the wonderful castle, where there is so much to discover! You should take your time to explore everything. I particularly liked the tour of the rocks, with its beautiful views of the surroundings, idyllic rest benches and narrow places to slip through. In this rocky environment, plants still find their place and trees loop their roots around the stone blocks to get hold.

  • I don't know of any more beautiful ruins, mega 😎, entry is also ok.
If you want to have the Oybin for yourself, you should go through the gate just before the gates close.

  • The "Mountain Oybin" is an interesting sandstone massif on which a castle and monastery ruin worth seeing is located. From the mountain the view sweeps with a panorama into the depth to the place of the same name and on the heights of the Zittau mountains to Zittau.

  • "The Oybin is a 514-meter-high mountain in the Zittau Mountains above the town of the same name in southeast Saxony. It contains the ruins of Oybin Castle, which Emperor Charles IV had built for his retirement home, and a monastery of the Celestines, which was founded in 1369 has been.

The castle complex of the Höhenburg occupies the entire summit area of the Oybin mountain. In addition to the actual castle on the west side with the imperial house, it also contains the monastery ruins, the mountain cemetery of the municipality of Oybin and a castle restaurant. At the highest point of the mountain is a camera obscura. The mountain church on the hillside, Oybin, has remarkable paintings inside. "Wikipedia - Oybin (mountain)

  • You should have seen the castle ruins on the Oybin. Here you can experience history up close, many of the old cellar vaults have been restored and are accessible. A visit in the week is particularly recommended as it can get crowded on weekends. Those who shy away from the short, crisp ascent to the Oybin or are no longer as good on foot can use the tourist train.
