Tips
The hut is located at 1,620 meters on the sunny south side at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser high above Ellmau and offers a wonderful view on the beautiful sun terrace - on clear days even as far as the Goßvenediger. The hut is towered over by the highest peak in the Wilder Kaiser – the Ellmauer Halt, at 2,344 metres.
On beautiful summer days, the much-visited hut is a popular destination for hikers and an important base for mountaineers and climbers, who can start alpine tours and great climbing routes from here.
The hut is staffed from Pentecost to mid-October.
