The market place at Hessenpark can only be entered through the entrance to the open-air museum, but you do not have to pay entrance fee.
The marketplace itself is designed in half-timbered style and includes various shops with Hessian specialties and souvenirs.
Definitely worth a visit is the bakery on the market square, where there are delicious cakes and nuts that are still baked traditionally (no frozen dough pieces).
Also the sourdough bread is highly recommended!
