On the site of the farmer Anton Richter, at the place called Abendseite, a conical windmill made of sandstone blocks was erected in 1844. In the mill, 4 tons of grain were ground every year. The windmill inJonsdorf had, unlike the other mills in the area, a windmill with the traditional four wings.
The mill was operated until the 20s of the 20th century. After the Mühtanlagen had been eliminated, two apartments were built in the mill. They were inhabited until the expulsion of the German population in 1946.

The rescue of the mill
The National Committee of the Municipality Rosendorf (Růžová) sold in 1960 the windmill ruins as a weekend home to private persons. The building
had no roof and no house number and it should be demolished.
During the renovation work, which took a very long time, construction work was carried out with the aim of preserving the existing substance.
Noteworthy are some steps of the old stone staircase, which have been preserved.
Other windmills are located in Arnoltice (Arnsdorf), Rosendorf, Huntiřov (Güntersdorf) and in Světík at Dolní Podluží (Lichtenberg at Obergrund). From the windmill in Jonsdorf you can observe the table mountains in the Saxon Switzerland.
