with over 300 km, the Mittelland Canal is the longest artificial waterway in Germany.
In the Hanover area it goes from Seelze over a waterway cross, here the Leinetal is crossed in an old and a new trip. There is a connection to the leash and the Ihme via the branch channel Hanover-Linden and the connecting channel to the leash. In the further course, the Mittelland Canal crosses the northern parts of Hanover and then meets the Anderten lock.
