Very nice hiking area around Oberstdorf. There are also beautiful paths in the valley. Those who want to go higher will also get their money's worth.

In 1361, Rubi was first mentioned in a document of division by the brothers Oswald and Marquart von Heimenhofen. In 1621 there were 23 fireplaces in Rubi. A number that has changed little over the centuries.
In 1636 the construction of St. Anne's Chapel began. Contracts with Oberstdorf and Langenwang exist early on, namely from the 15th century, which were mostly about securing the Trettach or the rights of use in Rubinger Oy. In the middle of the 15th century, the Archdiocese of Augsburg had taken almost the entire town into its possession. In 1972 he came to the market in Oberstdorf together with Schöllang.
According to Steiner, the name could go back to the Latin "rovina" (=Muhre), a loan word from our pre-Germanic population. According to this, it was taken over by the immigrated Alemanni during the "land grab".
Also interesting is the reference to a small village that was north-west of Rubi on the footpath to Schöllanger Castle before the Thirty Years' War and was called Berg.
