The former fishing settlement in the Bamberg island town is affectionately called "Little Venice". Closely packed half-timbered buildings and tiny gardens dominate the image of this district. The half-timbered houses mostly date from the Middle Ages. They are lined up in a beautifully decorated row along the Regnitz, boats bob at the moorings in the front gardens.
