The lookout tower, which consists of a steel and wood construction, is 522m high and was built in 2011, replacing an older tower that previously stood here. The tower is about 12m high. The tower or the mountain has two names 'Hohler Berg' and 'Hohes Kreuz'. The name 'Hohler Berg' comes from the fact that there are numerous caves around the mountain, meaning that the mountain below is 'hollow'.
