From 1396 to 1802 Großsüße belonged to the territory of the imperial city of Ulm and was administered by a magistrate. This house, newly built in 1712, was his home and official residence. When Ulm and thus Großsüße 1802 first came to Kurbayern and then 1810 to Württemberg, the building was used since 1804 as a vicarage, until it acquired the community Süssen in 1980 and after its renovation in 1981 to 1983, the city library set up.- Information board on the building -

When marauding French Soldateska devastated a large part of Großsüßen on July 16, 1707, the entire archive and registry inventory from before 1707 also burned in the Ulm office building.
