In 1778, Theodor Arnold Stuckenborg had today's windmill built.
Anton Meyer from Zerhusen/Lohne bought the mill in 1858.
He learned the miller's trade in Münster.
That's why people have been talking about "Münstermann's Mill" ever since.
In 1928 the drive was converted to diesel engine power.
The wings and the gallery were therefore dismantled.

In 1930 the hull was covered with zinc sheeting.
In 1950 it was covered with aluminum panels.
The two old grinders are still there.
Today's electrically operated grinder is still functional.

The mill can only be viewed from the outside.

The remains of the mill in the center of Vechta can still be seen. A good clue, because diagonally opposite is the bakery Meyers mill. Baked here for 5 generations, the specialty is black bread.
Who eats this, first knows how black bread can taste. That's up to Thomas Meyer. He is a baker with passion. He still has the old stone oven, the new one has been built right next to it. As before, beechwood brings the oven to temperature. Also in the bakery you can see appliances that have been around for 50 years and more, such as the kneading machine, which is driven by a belt. "Why should I buy new implements when the old one has proven itself and will last for a long time?" Says Thomas Meyer.
The recipes for brown bread and other baked goods are more than 100 years old. "The black bread needs pure flour, pure water and a special salt. And a lot of experience, "emphasizes Thomas Meyer. One or the other product is fine-tuned according to the customer's taste, even the black bread: "Younger people do not like the crust so much, the old ones still know that and just want to chew the hard crust".
And then there's the spelled butter cake. Also a hit. Or the rye mares. Kilmer mares is also delicious. What should one say? Meyers mill is a taste paradise. Go there and try everything. It is worth it ..
