The Münster is one of the largest hall churches in Southern Germany. Construction began in 1425 under Duke Ludwig the Bearded and dragged on for over 100 years. A striking feature is its two massive towers, which are atypically placed diagonally over the corner. They were never fully completed and received their characteristic lean-to roofs instead of the planned high spires.
