Northeast of the former manor house, on the marshy floodplain of the Mehltheuerbach stream, lies an island surrounded by a water-filled moat. It is the remains of an early German moated castle and the noble seat mentioned in 1283 under Albertus de Stesciz, from which a Vorwerk (outlying farmstead), mentioned in 1445, and later the manor house emerged. The manor house, documented in 1551, grouped together with other farmsteads to form a manorial village.
