The leading from Cologne to Trier Agrippastraße runs at this location through the Olbrückwald. The Roman road has been excellently well preserved in the forest as a pronounced dam.
It leads northeast towards Blankenheimer village and is recognizable in the forest. Citizens with an interest in regional history encouraged the construction of a shelter and shelter, which was realized by the local associations with the support of the community. Under the protective cover, an incision into the ground presents itself, a so-called special section, on which the profile of the route can be recognized.

The route of the Roman transport connection Cologne - Trier, which runs through the state forest "Olbrück" near Blankenheimerdorf, has been known for a long time and has been extensively recognized in the literature. In 1994 it was linked to the section of the route between Urft near Nettersheim and the Görresburg temple complex through the results of aerial archeology (see information board at the edge of the forest). In the further course this route merges with today's B 51 in order to unite between Schmidtheim and Dahlem with a route variant running over Marmagen. Then the road runs almost exactly north-south on a single route towards Trier. Source: blankenheimerdorf.de/html/romerstrasse.html
