Very, very worth seeing, this small town of Eppstein

Former town hall and fire station, built in 1902 by the architect C. W. Plöcker.

Picturesque, additive, single-storey, angled building that cites the construction of the castle in the smallest of spaces. The left component (town hall) shows plastered masonry over rubble stone plinth, simple rectangular windows, high mansard roof with dormers. The building is cut at an angle, the tower set here, arched access with stairs and arched windows in the attic.

The unplastered round tower in quarry stone masonry, window frames, cornice, arched frieze and crenellated sandstone. The tower served the fire brigade as a hose tower and quotes the keep of the castle. The building on the right with a gable roof, the mid-house with romanized arched windows and attached battlements formerly had a fire engine gate with Art Nouveau ornaments on the ground floor (changed today).

The historicizing building was erected in the second row behind the town hall from 1767 (demolished in 1972), which was formerly located on the street. This baroque, well-proportioned building, modified in the Classicist style in the 19th century, of which a decorative gable has been preserved in the castle museum, stood on the site of a presumably medieval town hall (occupied for 1583).
