The extensive grounds in Rendsburg / Büdelsdorf in Schleswig-Holstein have served as supplies for Rendsburg Castle since the 14th century. With the founding of the Carlshütte iron foundry, the first industrial settlement of the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein took place here in 1827. After the final shutdown of the industrial company in 1997, the site with its huge foundry halls and the historic residential and commercial buildings were taken over by Hans-Julius Ahlmann, partner of the internationally active ACO Group.
