The Goslar market church, first mentioned in a document in 1151, was built using the no longer existing cathedral as a model. Its original form was a three-aisled, cross-shaped pillar basilica with two west towers. In the 14th and 15th centuries, its chancel was enlarged and a new nave was added on each side.
The north tower of the market church has been made accessible to visitors up to the tower room. More information about this project "Up to the top!", about the other goals and about the market church itself: marktkirche-goslar.de

The market church of St. Cosmas and Damian is the council church and main Protestant parish church of the city of Goslar. They are named after the two saints Cosmas and Damian - two early Christian doctors who are said to have performed many miraculous healings of the sick in Asia Minor in the 3rd century. For this reason, Cosmas and Damian are also considered the patron saints of the sick, doctors and pharmacists.
When the north tower is open, you have a wonderful view over the old town of Goslar from up there.
