In the Arteny Nature Park, the beautifully situated botanical garden is the end of a beautiful hike.

The botanical garden is about 20 minutes away following the track that leaves from the parking area, which is the access point to the Sorteny Valley natural park.
It is a botanical garden of about 800 m2 that presents us with nearly 300 species of flora classified by habitats such as the areas of sedge meadows, megaphorbia, alpine meadows, tartar, edible plants and medicinal plants. These last two are the most well-known and photographed in the Garden.

We highlight the endemic plants of the Pyrenees such as the Pyrenean aster (Aster pyenaeus), Burser's gentian (Gentiana burseri), the willow (Salix reticulata), the bear's ear (Ramonda myconi), others of great interest they are: the Astragalus penduliflorus, the round-leaved saxifrage (Saxifraga rotundifolia), and the flora of traditional use such as the salsafraja (Peucedanum ostruthhium), the arnica (Arnica montana), and the coscoll (Molopospermum peloponnesiacum).

The best time to visit the botanical garden and discover the different colors of its flowers is during the flowering period which we could narrow it down from the end of June to the end of July, although there are plants that bloom in the month of August .

Extremely helpful in identifying the plants we discovered on our hikes and learning their native names :-D
