The egg (giant egg)

The egg is a symbol of fertility and life in all cultures.

This egg is part of the OVUM project - three more are in Ivankovo - Chernobyl (2000), at Pristina - Kosovo (2002) and in Jerusalem - Israel. They were created by the artists Armin Kölbli, Bremen and Man Sturm, Karlsruhe.

The Bremervörder giant egg contains approx. 550 letters and pictures of school classes, children, families and single people as messages for the future. Here are some formulated thoughts.

"Every thought is energy, which works through time and should always sharpen the awareness to shape the world with our actions in such a way that it is still worth living for later generations. The thoughts in the now are the seeds for what will happen the pulse is generated that our descendants can still feel. " says Armin Kölbli.

The egg was sealed on September 14, 1991. An opening should only take place after 1000 years, in the hope that the messages can then still be read by people.
