The Marienkirche is located in the old town of Lübeck and you inevitably pass it.

Built directly at the town hall, the church has a close connection to the city's history. Shortly after the founding of Lübeck, there was a market church at this point with close ties to the upscale town tower and the city council. The church has been rebuilt several times, from a simple Romanesque basilica to a mighty Gothic brick cathedral over the centuries. Despite massive war damage, today a magnificent church again.
