Hiking Highlight (Segment)
Galgenvenn / chicken camp
The moorland Galgenvenn was once a court house. In the 19th century flax fibers were decomposed in the mines. The resulting small bodies of water are today habitat for newts and dragonflies. The heathland Hühnerkamp owes its name to the black grouse. The heath today offers field and heath lice as well as tree pipits shelter. Hikers reach the area via the path A2 or the premium hiking trail "Galgenvenn".
