Along the Méhaigne River, at the bridge between Moha and Huccorgne, stands a small but significant war memorial. It commemorates the inhabitants of the valley hamlet who died during the First and Second World Wars, often civilians and resistance fighters from the immediate area. The Méhaigne Valley was a strategic crossing at the time, leading to regular checks, arrests, and confrontations around the bridge. The simple, understated monument preserves the names of those who lived here and never returned. In its simplicity, it serves as a quiet reminder of a small community that felt the war particularly hard.

It is striking that the victims mentioned on the monument, three from the First and two from the Second World War, did not fall here, but - with one exception, who died in Harderwijk in the Netherlands - fell one by one in West Flanders (De Panne, Adinkerke, Kuurne, Tielt). tracesofwar.nl
