Weichtalhaus Alpine Training and Climbing Center
Mountaineering Highlight
Recommended by 20 out of 22 people
Location: Reichenau an der Rax, Bezirk Neunkirchen, Lower Austria, Austria
The Weichtalhaus (653 meters) is located in the Höllental between Rax and Schneeberg. The three-storey hut is used, among other things, as a training and climbing center for Naturfreunde Wien. The Weichtalhaus is the starting point for over 2,000 routes in the middle of Austria's largest climbing area. The location near the left bank of the Schwarza in the Höllental and at the entrance to the Weichtalklamm as well as diagonally opposite the Großer Höllental is therefore a worthwhile destination for hikers and, above all, for ambitious climbers.
Opening times: Open all year round, closed from April to June, Tuesday & Wednesday. July & September no day of rest, November to March open on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays.
Overnight stay: camp 2 x 24 places, 3 x 8-bed rooms, 1 comfort room for 2 people.
