The publicly accessible herb garden (often called „Augsburger Kräutergärtlein“), located in the ramparts. Founded in 1983 for the city's 2,000th anniversary on the grounds of the former vegetable garden of the Heilig-Geist-Spital, the garden offers visitors the opportunity not only to view fresh herbs such as chives, coriander, sage, and Thai mint, but also to taste them and take them home in usual household quantities.
