Various fields in the Wartenberg and Falkenberg area are grazed by Scottish Highland cattle to prevent them from becoming overgrown with shrubs. The animals live outdoors year-round, which doesn't bother them at all. They originally come from northwest Scotland. There used to be two different breeds, which were later combined through selective breeding. As a result, Scottish Highland cattle come in a variety of colors. The typical color is reddish-brown, but black and yellow are also possible. Some pastures are used year-round, while others are used only as summer grazing.
