The Karow Ponds Nature Reserve is an important resting and breeding area for waterfowl and reed-nesting birds, but hedgerow and forest edge species such as the golden oriole, barred warbler, and whinchat are also native here.

The ponds are of national importance as amphibian spawning grounds. Sand lizards and grass snakes can be regularly observed. In summer, more than 20 species of dragonfly hunt over the water.

A trip is therefore worthwhile for relaxing walks, but also for observing the diverse flora and fauna.

The Karower ponds are a nature reserve in the northeast of Berlin. Here are the duck pond, the reed pond, the pond and the pond. Numerous species of birds and other small animal species live here. Through the area run the north-south route (Pankeweg), the Barnimer Dörferweg and the Radfernweg Berlin-Usedom. The NSG is well attended, especially on weekends.

The Karower Teiche are a nature reserve in the north-east of Berlin. They are of supra-regional importance for amphibians, dragonflies and water birds.

But the nature reserve also provides a habitat for rare plants. Around 330 wild plant species have already been identified in the area, many of which are included in Berlin's Red List.

From the center of the area you have a good overview of the pond landscape and from four viewing platforms you can enjoy the beautiful view of the water surfaces and the natural landscape.
