  • Between 1955 and 1970, the Glessener Höhe was heaped up as an external landfill from the masses of the opencast mines north of the forest. On its recultivated slope edge, the so-called “sky ladder” facilitates the ascent to the agricultural plateau of the 85 m high heap, which even has a summit cross.
