Road cycling
They tower all along the route: slender towers with colorful blades, sometimes lovingly restored, sometimes worn by the wind. Once used to grind grain or pump water, they shaped Mallorca's agriculture in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Today, they are a symbol of the island, a symbol of identity and nostalgia at the same time.
In Pla de Sant Jordi near Palma, dozens of these windmills line up one after the other – an unforgettable sight, especially in the evening sun.
