Below the Schwerin Castle, on the shores of Lake Schwerin, the grotto is part of the castle garden. The imposing structure was assembled from stately granite boulders. The stones were brought by ships from the area around Raben Steinfeld, another corner of the Schweriner See. Children like to play hide and seek between the individual pillars of the grotto, and the stones on the ceiling serve as quarters for various species of bats.

I was amazed and would not have expected such a grotto in this place. Very nice to look at. When circling the castle in any case.
