The chapel was built in 1999 and is one of the youngest around Königsfeld. It is an example of the fact that, even in our fast-moving times, people take part in the fate of others. The sick hunting tenant Fritz Schmidt, who lived in Berlin, learned that Treunitz citizens were praying for his well-being. That impressed Schmidt very much and he donated this chapel out of gratitude to the Treunitzers. He died in 2003.
The chapel is dedicated to hunting and was therefore dedicated to St. Hubertus of Liège, the patron saint of hunters.
