The early classicist brick church was built from 1785 onwards according to a design by Jürgen Christian Findorff. It was inaugurated on November 1, 1789 by regional superintendent Johann Hinrich Pratje. The church tower, which is covered with a pointed, slate-covered pyramid roof, was only added in 1841. In 1889 he received the tower clock, which was built by J. F. Weule. A bell hangs from the top of the tower. On the north side of the nave there is a risalit, the gable roof of which cuts into that of the nave. An extension on the south side is a small cross arm. With the last renovation in 1988/1989, the original appearance of the interior, which was spanned by a barrel vault and provided with galleries on three sides, was restored. The pulpit altar was placed in front of the south wall so that the participants in the service sit in a semicircle around it.
