The bases and figures are part of a monument to Frederick the Great, which was dedicated on October 8th.
The monument stood in front of the gate of the Central Palace until World War II.
After the war, the bronze statue of the Prussian king was melted down. The base and the Grand Master figures were preserved and now stand in the courtyard of the Central Palace.
