Kilchberg Castle is the private residence of the von Tessin family and is therefore not open to the public. Remains of the original octagonal ring wall castle from the Hohenstaufen period (12th century) and the keep built by the lords of Kilchberg around the same time are still clearly visible today. Towards the end of the 15th century, the property became the property of the von Ehingen family. Georg von Ehingen (1428 - 1508) was a councilor to Count Eberhard im Barte and built the late Gothic stone house that is still inhabited today.
